All MMA fighter would win cause its by their rules. now.. make Penguin all those MMA fighters get in a boxing ring & they will get beat into a Registered User coma. the reason for this is cause boxers arent used to grappling & Joined: Saturday, 22nd of May 2010, 10:06:29 takedowns so its stupid to all of a sudden put them in a cage to fight.. & Posts: 237 an MMA fighter, put em in a ring & make them obey boxing rules.. they will Viewed 15619 times get MURDERED because all MMA fighters suck $$ in the fundamentals of
boxing they always throw punches slow & wide & dnt put their body properly
into those punches. a boxer has a better chance in an octagon cause they
could try & make it into a toe to toe fight.. but MMA fighter CAN NOT take
some1 down in a boxing ring, therefore they are F*%#!
in the end.. Boxing is a superior sport PERIOD!!!!!!

Its completely different rules, if the fights were held in a boxing ring,
not one of the UFC fighters would make it would of the first round - even
Silva.
You couldn't even make these types of matchups in their respective sports
- they don't let a guy who has never fought take on a world champion, it
would almost be criminal.

All i can say about MMA fighters is, they mostly don't only depend on
their punches or boxing skills to win. They highly depend on the
submission skills BJJ etc.
Also, when they fight, they don't only punch, but they throw kicks &
elbows as well.
So hence, they don't spend enough time, perfecting their boxing skills
unlike Boxers. Who is supposed to ONLY use punches in Boxing.

Seriously, boxers are underestimated simply because we only see one side
of their skill. There is nothing in what we see in the boxing ring that
would mean that the boxer is incapable of learning MMA.
BTW, why didn't you include Manny Pacquiao & Fyodor Emelianenko? Not
against each other, of course, but their absense is curious.

i saw one guy, he wasnt a big deal in boxing, he was on the olympic team &
he fought a kick boxer.they had to carry him out of the ring because his
legs were so injured, bloody & beaten..
and i know thats wierd, & im not even talking about them fighting the
submission guyes, im mean the boxers are great & hand striking, better
than the mixed martial artist hands down.but if they fought in the
octagon, it would get nasty for the boxers.NASTY i would be concerned for
there health
so all of the mma guyes you listed would have my bet, no doubt about that,
the boxers do have a snow balls chance in hell, but im sorry man mma takes
this one hands down
oh yea & too you boxing fans that say a mixed martial artist couldnt hold
up in the ring.you are probably rite but the question was what would
happen in the octagon.the boxer has little or no chance at all, even in
stand up or the clinch, & lets no even consider the ground, that would
just be a bad thing
to that rag guy, you are 100 precent rite a boxer xould definitly do mma
with a year or two of training, but saying that guyes from the WWE could
come to the ufc & do good is soo worng, the only reason why lesnar can is
because he was a NCAA wrestling champ back in college, & he has a great
reach, & outstanding athletic ability..but most of those guyes just look
like that because of steriods & wouldnt have a chance in the octagon
against an even decent mixed martial artist, like if the guyes from the
WWE even tried boxing wouldnt have a chance because boxers train there
entire live to fight in one element of fighting in the stand up area
(without the use of there legs in striking like a mixed martail artist), &
against that big sterioded beach muscle the boxer would tear them up like
the mixed martial artist would, but in mma who knows how they would loose
because its not a one deminsional sport, brock lesnar is just gifted, not
just anyone from the WWE, boxing or the street could just jump into the
cage after some training & dominate like lesnar has
and to that brooklyn dude, saying that a mixed martial artist doesnt
counter in striking just shows you have no idea what the hell you are
taliking about, & ur ignorance to the future of fighting sports.maywether,
de la hoya these are names any fighter knows because they are the last
ligit forces in boxing, & the bad news for you is that ur dying sport wont
have any new names, because the ametures are learning greco roman
wrestlign, muai thai, abd bjj to get into the mma world( go ahead ask
around, ask the younger guyes). boxing is just an element of mma, like ju
jitsu or wrestling.if a mixed martial artsit wrestled a NCAA curent
college champion, he would probably loose, but in the cage the wrestler in
most cases doesnt have a chance. & thats why you wont find a boxer boxing a
mixed martial artist too often, the boxer would win, there is no question,
unless the mixed martial artist got his start in boxing, then it mite be a
better fight.
its like you are trying to ignore his question, he said in the cage, the
boxer has no chance.no chance, if he cant use his legs, how is he going to
counter a few leg kicks,(trust me its a painful thing if you havent trained
with it for a few years) & then keep his hands up enough not to give an
opening somwhere else? eccspecially when he has to battle with a guy that
knows how to use his shins, knees, elbows better than him, notice how i
didnt say fist, but a good mixed martail artist can still find a way.plus
when he finds an opening, & look there where i said when he finds an
opening, how is he going to stop all of that pluss a guy who can wrestle &
use standing, clinch, & ground submissions, IN THE CAGE (or the street) THE
BOXER HAS LITTLE OR NO CHANCE.
and just dont try to make it sound like ur sport is so much more advanced,
its not, mma evolves every day, everytime the pace changes everytime a
style is manipulated for the better of the sport, every time something is
shown more effective the entire sport eveolves, so yea if you are like 50+
years old stick to ur boxing, the youth will bring in the new era of
fighting & combat sports
